Rules
The contest is actually 2 contests. The first contest will be for the main logo for the website. The second contest is for a design of icons for the website.
Some suggestions/answers to help you win:
- For the name on the logo, you may use "Gentoo-Portage" or "Gentoo-portage.com"
- Create a version of your logo with and without a "Beta" stamp
- No, you cannot use the Gentoo "G"
- Yes, you can include the search bar into your logo
- A favicon for the site (ico or png)
- An RSS button (you may use the existing one if you wish)
- Track / Stop Tracking buttons for the package pages
- An "Ebuild" icon/button to signify the downloading of an ebuild
- An "Ebuild" icon/button to signify viewing of the ebuild
- A "mini" logo for the website (to be given out to for other sites to link here, use your discretion for the size)
- A "-" button for use on the "My Homepage" page
- An "Upload Image" Button for use on each package page
For both contests DO NOT use the Gentoo "G" for anything, the Gentoo people have seen fit to not allow the use of their logo for anything non-official anymore. The new Logo should reflect this.
Submissions
Please include any and all source files with your submissions.
Please refrain from using any copyrighted material in your designs as this will disqualify you from the contest.

For contestants living outside of Canada / United States : Your prize may be substituted for the cash value of the prize ($149 USD, $69 USD respectively)
